new server exploits?
I recently joined a versus game and there were these weird instances of spitter acid appearing under our feet every 5 seconds or so, with no spitter or projectile in sight, and a fake chat message appeared too:

This is my first time seeing a server getting exploited like this so i dont know if this is exactly new. either way it seems like manchildren of versus managed to get their hands on another toy to dismantle servers with.

PS: another oddity was that when we moved from map 1 to map 2, the teams seemingly scrambled, i found myself in the opposite team in the 2nd map.

You realize that you can do this "hack" by adding enough spaces your chat message? Also, there's console commands to spawn spit where you are pointing at, kinda like how survival does when you try to cheat. Sad to say it, you gullible af.

i was in an OFFICIAL server (i checked the console), so nobody reasonably could have dropped spit on me like that.

Also, the fake chat message appeared alone, it wasn't sent alongside a normal message.

Yeah, new exploit, and those yet to be discovered. It's an old game, full of security holes everywhere unfortunately.
