Dev Request - Save & Quit Option
Firstly congrats on the game, really enjoyable and something very different from other games on the market. Standing out from the crowd on Steam is a real achievement so well done!

There is one feature I would to see added however, and that is a Save & Quit option while attempting a level.

I would LOVE for the game to allow me to quit out and then resume from the last check point with all of the collectables I had found for that level intact, per my last activation of a checkpoint of course.

This would be instead of starting the level fresh again each time you decide to quit out.

No need to change the check point system as it is, I understand as you have already explained that is how the game is designed (i.e. collectables are only saved after death if you have "banked them" by activating a checkpoint) and for me, a save and quit type feature wouldn't compromise that vision, however it would be a welcome nod towards respecting a players time.

This game isn't friendly to us Dad's who may need to quit a game in progress at a moments notice :)

Would appreciate the Devs thoughts on that, and for everyone else, I would just appreciate your support should you be in the same frame of mind as me. If nothing else it might demonstrate to the Dev's (or not) how much of a valued feature this would be.

Thanks

I also agree, atm I have a conttroller that puts stress on my hands and I need to be able to save and quit during particularly frustrating levels so I can rest my hands. A moment ago I had to quit a level I spent an hour and a half getting through when I had one key left before I could end the level. I couldn't get this key as I couldn't concentrate and my hands were very sore from wrestling with my pesky controller, and I could not keep the game open as my PC has issues running anything else while the game is open. Saving and quitting would be a godsend.

Hey guys!

Thanks for firing this suggestion over to us. So, this is something we're certainly aware that has been frustrating players, so we can only apologise for that. It's a difficult one for us to tackle from multiple points of view (Code and design for example). However, that being said, we've definitely taken notice.

Although we cannot promise it's coming (or when...) it's something we're looking into to see how best to approach it and will put this down as a QoL issue for us to resolve. Again, if any others have further feedback, please do fire it our way and we'll keep bringing it up with the wider team as much as we need to :)

I agree with this. Sometimes I want to play before going to university, but I can't because I don't have that much time to play.

Nice to hear, shame it isn't something that appears on any kind of current improvement roadmap (if I am interpreting you correctly), hopefully we will see it implemented sooner rather than later.

Please keep us posted on this, it would be massively appreciated.

Just giving this a mini bump to keep it relevant

YES. Please. It would kinda solve the problem i mentioned in another thread about the checkpoint system.

I stopped playing because every time i want to 100% a level, i also have to get the keys to open the exit. Every. Damn. Time. :(((((((((

Well the Devs have responded and hopefully it is a something we will see implemented. I certainly hope so as for the moment I am unable to progress much further into the game, I simply don't have the time!

I had the same thought last night. Was in the middle of level 9 when my daughter woke up crying from her nap... It's a great game, but I feel like I can only play when I have at least an hour to devote to it.

Agreed!

Another request for this. This would be a great game to play when I have a spare 15 minutes, but can't afford the time to dedicate to an entire level.

In the exact same situation and sadly the game now sits there unplayed.

Fingers crossed something is implemented! :)

Oh, there's no "Save and Quit" functionality?

Sorry, no buy from me, then. I have a family and I need games that cater to unpredictable game session lengths.

Sadly not, although hoping that changes. If I could refund at this point, I would.

I liked everything about the game, and I enjoy it thoroughly, but I can't play it because of 1h+ sessions (and sometimes you just end up too tired to get to the keystone). Because of that, I've submitted a negative review. I just can't play the game outside my vacation.

I'm looking forward to S&Q feature to resume playing and fix my review. It's a cricial feature.

I was about to buy this, so very glad I saw this thread. Not being able to save and quit during play is a definite deal breaker for me too. Not just because I may be too busy to have time to complete a level in one sitting, but also because such extended play sessions can cause immense pain in my hands and wrists (not as young as I used to be!).

Will keep an eye on this game to see if the save system changes to address this. If it does, I'll buy.
