No, there isn't.
Then just buy it. On Mangagamer store. They sell the 18+ version.
Other devs have been doing this for way too long with absolutely no repercussions, even high profile devs like Winged Cloud. Every new game has an official forum post about where to download the free patch. At that point its just considered a mod.
Not really. They used to give away free Steam copies with every 18+ sale until massive fraud forced them to stop. Doesn't sound like something someone would do if it was all really a ploy to force people to buy the game twice.
And anyway there's no reason or real benefit to buying both versions. Nobody is trying to convince you to do this.
Steam doesn't care about patches. MangaGamers policy is 100% due to them wanting full profits from the uncut versions. If people are serious enough to go there to buy a patch they they probably figure they will be serious enough to just buy the full game from them instead.
I'm not sure why you think you have so much more information than everyone else. MangaGamer's own word is that they asked their assigned Steam rep about making patches, and they were told point blank not to do it. And you just assume they are lying to us because...? It doesn't fit in with their past behavior at all. You sound like someone who knows nothing about this company or the industry in question at all and just wants to spread ignorant rumors.
Definitely doesn't make sense that mangaGamer would be lying because they are trying to make additional profit off uncensored content.
And anyway in the years that MangaGamer has been in business, they have never given us any reason to see them as anything but fully honest and up front in their dealings with their customers. These conspiracy theories of yours just have no basis in reality at all. Not every company is out to screw you over for a quick buck, why not save these kinds of assumptions for those that actually have a proven track record of dishonesty?
