No, there isn't.

Then just buy it. On Mangagamer store. They sell the 18+ version.

A fanmade patch would not be hard but MG has been told by their Valve rep they are not allowed to make one

dont need one just get the ini files from the unrated version and replace them in the steam version others are reporting this aswell it works and achivments still work

So for steam purchasers of the game, they'll just have to wait for someone to upload and link the ini files to them and it will be working like the 18+ version? Yeah, I'm waiting for a kind person to do that for us before I get the steam version.

That's got to be a lie. They don't release paid patches for any of their censored games (the majority of which are only sold there) to up them to the uncensored version, they must hope for double sales.

Other devs have been doing this for way too long with absolutely no repercussions, even high profile devs like Winged Cloud. Every new game has an official forum post about where to download the free patch. At that point its just considered a mod.

Not really. They used to give away free Steam copies with every 18+ sale until massive fraud forced them to stop. Doesn't sound like something someone would do if it was all really a ploy to force people to buy the game twice.

And anyway there's no reason or real benefit to buying both versions. Nobody is trying to convince you to do this.

People want to play it on Steam, but also don't want a lesser version. Right or wrong, insisting that people need to Not play on Steam to play the full uncut version because you wont release a patch is like running up and down the beach demanding the tide not rise. You just look like a fool and the water rises anyway.

Steam doesn't care about patches. MangaGamers policy is 100% due to them wanting full profits from the uncut versions. If people are serious enough to go there to buy a patch they they probably figure they will be serious enough to just buy the full game from them instead.

I'm not sure why you think you have so much more information than everyone else. MangaGamer's own word is that they asked their assigned Steam rep about making patches, and they were told point blank not to do it. And you just assume they are lying to us because...? It doesn't fit in with their past behavior at all. You sound like someone who knows nothing about this company or the industry in question at all and just wants to spread ignorant rumors.

MG did release Kindred Spirits on the Roof on Steam completely uncensored and unaltered from their release on their site. If profit is purely the motive I don't know why they would make that one an exception.
BaronKrause 23 Jan, 2017 @ 6:20pm
Of course, that's definitely it. Let's ignore all the other devs like Winged Cloud who release patches for every new game they make and all other companies who also does it, and right in Steam's own forums. Also ignore that not a single dev has ever actually gotten in trouble. been told to take it down, or to stop.

Definitely doesn't make sense that mangaGamer would be lying because they are trying to make additional profit off uncensored content.

They would of been fried if they censored that one when the original content would've actually been able to be released on steam. Did that game have a censored version on MangaGamer? (Most their games that have censored and uncensored versions are sold in both formats on their site, with the uncensored versions going for a small premium).

It surprises you that Valve's policies are inconsistent depending on who is the point of contact with the company in question? Obviously those developers that offer patches were in contact with somebody with a very different interpretation of what the rules are. That or they simply never bothered to ask.

And anyway in the years that MangaGamer has been in business, they have never given us any reason to see them as anything but fully honest and up front in their dealings with their customers. These conspiracy theories of yours just have no basis in reality at all. Not every company is out to screw you over for a quick buck, why not save these kinds of assumptions for those that actually have a proven track record of dishonesty?
