Equipment can have HP- as an Equip Effect.

The red Par means the weapon is ineffective (1 Dmg) vs Paranormal (aka Ectoplasmic) type enemies such as Slimes and Ghosts. Kaito will warn you when you are about to start encountering them.

The red in the sex area means the equipment is forbidden to characters of that sex. You can still equip it, but it will be glitched (cursed) and cannot be unequipped except via the Development Lab->Remove Glitch function.

In some cases (level and class), red prohibits equipping the equipment at all, unless using a Pass Code.

Something has a -1 hp effect as mentioned, I think cursed gear does that by default (in addition to whatever else the curse does) even if it's not a listed effect. +hp effects can mitigate it (green and says "HP+") or counter it.

I've never encountered that feature, certainly not gear that's cursed because of mismatched gender or alignment. Only on -HP tagged items.

was having the same issue but it makes sense. I have two berserk knuckles on my male monk. they are glitched as well. honestly the game doesn't explain very well how glitched gear works or if that is the same as cursed gear. it was weird though because i got through almost the whole dungeon before my character started taking damage though.

A certain personality type can just equip cursed gear and not experience the bad effects, (in similar games it's a race, like in Elminage, the Devilish race could.) and not experience it's negative effects. In this game the characters individual gender is the factor for the gear, not the gender of their class.
