Is there an option or patch to have more 'traditional' class names?
I'm not sure if it is something with the localization to English, but I really would prefer more traditional 'class' names over stuff like Muscular: M or Intelligent: I I looked at the options and nothing jumped out at me.

Said option would really allow me a better way to identify what each character's roles are since I'm a bit lost right now (just started last night and played about 1.5 hours so far)

I sometimes say half-jokingly that trying to figure out this game has ended up being part of the exploration of it.

The English-language documentation of it is kinda sparse. But my guess is that it's not the localization that made it this way but rather it's just that the designers purposely went with this sci-fi theming on everything.

I don't actually know, but that's my guess at least.

recently started playing this game cuz its the only one i own and have installed that is basically a blobber and i've been in the mood for one recently. I thought stuff like muscular or intelligent were traits and more akin to your characters race giving you stat bumps in certain stats rather it being your class and your blood-codes are actually your classes though. is that not correct? As far as I know outside of stat bumps from your traits the only thing that seems like it might have an effect is scrupulous though I need to double check if this was a trait or something else. One of the default characters seem to be a samurai and often i get text saying something about scrupulous but I am unsure if that's creating any additional effect. at first i thought it might be why I was getting two attacks per weapon, but the weapons themselves have an increase in number of attacks.

Yes, this is correct. Traits are like races in other games, they determine your initial stat spread and there are some rare gear that can only be equipped by certain traits.
