Seeing the store page images made me think the game seemed more 90s than 80s, but I thought maybe that was deceptive and I needed to see it in action. However, after seeing enough footage of this game, it became more and more clear I was right: the game legitimately feels more 90s than 80s. And I'm not talking about that first half of the 90s that continued some aspects of the late 80s neon fetish, I could legitimately see this game releasing on the Playstation in 1998. The only things that made me think this game was more 80s were the intro and first two soundtracks (not that rock music wasn't huge in the 80s, but it still was in the 90s, too).

Not necessarily a bad thing, I'm just a huge nerd who gets interested in stuff like how society remembers things a certain way and I doubt the developer(s)/publisher(s) were deliberately trying to falsely advertise. I've seen a lot of people misremember recent decades like the 80s, 90s, and even 2000s quite a lot even though it hasn't been that long since we experienced them and there's more than enough footage and media to go around showing what those times were really like.
