Antivirus found 43 infected files in Dying Light 2 folder
43 instances all in the cutscenes folder according to path below and identified as variant of Zmutzy Trojan. The infected files were all .scr files.

steamapps\common\Dying Light 2\ph\source\data0.pak=>cutscenes/orders_scavengers_chief_dlg/orders_scavengers_chief_dlg_secretary_walk_away.scr

Anyone else get a similar scan result?

Thanks for the related external post, which I navigated to myself rather than clicking your link. It seems to be about people being sent .scr files from other people. However, in this case, these infected files weren't sent to me by others but judging by their directory path they were installed as part of the Dying Light 2 game. So I wonder if other people have these .scr files in their game folder.

The implication would be that Techland is putting these .scr files that are identified (whether correctly or incorrectly) as Trojans as game files.

Do they use Epic for online features? The engine is Techland's own.
And who can say who put the Trojans there?
Again, it'd be good to know if other people have these same .scr files in their Steamapps\Common\Dying Light 2 folder.

That's the content of the sayed *.scr file.

SeqTrack("orders_scavengers_chief_dlg_secretary_walk_away_Player_00", "orders_scavengers_chief_dlg_secretary_walk_away_Player_00.anm2", 0, 298, 30, 1, 0.5) SeqTrack("orders_scavengers_chief_dlg_secretary_walk_away_Juan_00", "orders_scavengers_chief_dlg_secretary_walk_away_Juan_00.anm2", 0, 298, 30, 1, 0.5) SeqTrack("orders_scavengers_chief_dlg_secretary_walk_away_Secretary_00", "orders_scavengers_chief_dlg_secretary_walk_away_Secretary_00.anm2", 0, 298, 30, 1, 0.5)

Did you just let the AV do its thing, or did you flag/exempt them as false positives?

i left them be, those are most likely false positive
What kind of AV are you using? No issues with Bitdefender Premium.

Same but Total Security.
the built in antivirus for windows 11 works good. lol not sure why anyone would wanna buy a virus protection. unless your not always careful when downloading/clicking on things.

So, for example, in SE Labs' July report for consumer AV, Microsoft Defender scored 93% in the protection accuracy rating vs 100% for the top three vendors in their test. 93% is pretty good, but there is always the small chance that you get exposed to malware in the 7% difference. It's better for peace of mind, especially if you share a computer with family.

i dont share my computer.
nor do i share my 8 other gaming computer hardware. i have in my room. to build 8 more rigs. or spare parts lol.

plus i dont think my family would do to much. damage. if that was the case.

my computer is hooked up. to the internet in a way. that it does not share files.

so im good here plus if there computer gets used. they use it every. 10 months. and then i do scans on the computers. so its safe to say. that im good.
I really really doubt that a company like them would allow such a big virus party in their own files. lol

I mean ...they do have qualified ppl there and such.

They allow a gigantic virus party in their files. I've dealt with hundreds of their victims (as well as non-infected bandits and Peacekeepers) for 100 hours.
Their qualified ppl are about to unleash even more virus in Castor Woods.
