Anyway.....if stopped at a station press the TAB key. Then choose on which side you want to open the doors. After the passengers have boarded, press TAB again and close the doors.
This will work with all 3 trains.

showing how open the doors. Very important point on a passenger train I think.-
"Took me a while to figure it out as well. But while sitting in the drivers seat press and hold left on the D pad and a pop up menu should appear. Let go of the D pad and use the left thumb stick to navigate the menu that is now on screen and there should be 2 options on the right one for unlocking left and one for unlocking right highlight your choice and press the A button"
