I'll be posting some informational updates between now and then.
A small teaser[cdn.discordapp.com] from my last playthrough.
Give me a shout if you have any other questions.
*Edited for typos/clarification : Updates will begin rolling out in late February, I'll be posting news updates starting in early February.
Quid de la version française ?
Yep working hard on the update will have something really soon!
As for translation auto-translation will initially be done via an AI system then there will be a google sheet(s) for any corrections the community would like to make.
take your time, dude. Nobody is helped if you break your own motivation by overworking.
people have no idea how tough the job market got and how hard it is to solo develop.
luckily, AI may really give you some tools to make a lot more progress in the future -- at least that is my impression from using chatGPT and looking at 'midjourney' and 'stable diffusion'
my hope generally is that AI can do the stuff that's easy to do but takes a looong time so solo devs or small teams can focus on being creative and making good gaming systems, for which you'll always need a human
Hey thanks, I really appreciate the kind words.
You're pretty spot on with your AI thoughts. My general view on AI is, it's a great tool (for language/story/art/etc) and can make one person insanely productive, but teams should still add input both before and after to make sure it fits the style and fidelity. With that in mind, I've been trying to build up a lot of systems that produce Arakion-style content as a base jumping point. (for example, I have a multitude of Arakion-style trained generators, one of them produces flawless wood cutout art as you see in the Arakion intro).
Hopefully, most solo/small dev teams (or really any dev teams) are adding it to their toolbox, it's a very powerful tool to have and one person becomes so much more productive when using them.
[Note here that I only train generators with my own art, however, given Steams recent ban on AI stuff I have removed all AI art from Arakion.]
No offense, I root for indie developers and wish them every success they could have, but I also need some clarity in my life too, you know.
Understandable. As stated I'm currently working full-time on the game and am trying to get it out as fast as I can.
With that said, here's what is rolling out soon (In order):
Looking forward to the full release, Kickstarter is now so long ago I'd nearly forgotten about it. Very happy to see you still working on it!
Hopefully, everyone will enjoy the releases. As stated I'll be releasing full-length "Adventures" to all owners of Arakion while I finish up work on the main project.
Any news on when we can expect to see the releases you mention above?
I'm really happy with where the game is at and I'm excited to get it out! I'll try to start putting out some informational or video updates as soon as I have a spare moment.
