I already deleted the input.ini file as the dev suggested in another thread, but after a few laps the issue came back.

Its incredibly annoying, since it seems to happen either at the start of the race or after 6/7 laps i need to drive for the final event.

Super annoying.

Just got through 2/5 races in the event before it started to happen again after I crashed mid race and restarted... No idea how to fix it.

I switched to keyboard and won that way.

I think I figured out the controller thing. For some extremely stupid reason, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Steam controller config for Redout had Gyro bound as a combo action to R2. WTF. I disabled the Gyro completely, then did the touchpad too for good measure. Seems to be working now

Thank you! This was exactly my issue on the steam deck as well! The default controls has gyro activate if you hold down R2, and it feeds the left joystick when you do so. This means if I hold R2 (trigger) for strafe or acceleration:

1. I look backwards (wtf)
2. whatever action R2 is bound to happens
3. I get gyro input in addition to my stick input

This was really really frustrating and confusing. WTF steam!

Disabled gyro and touchpad, everything starts working as it should.

I don't have this issue but sometimes my ship stops accelerating like if I stopped pressing de button, and also after a "rez" my ship steers itself which can be pretty dangerous haha
