You have to switch to the VR branch. The old VR setup is obsolete as far as the engine is concerned so it can't be featured in updates. So you have to go back to version 1.6. Such is the nature of games before VR got standardized.

And how to switch branches? I mean, I'm not a beta tester of the game and I don't see any option to downgrade the game.

Go to the Betas tab via right clicking Redout in your game library and selecting properties. From there, type 'redoutvredition' into the space labeled 'Enter Beta Access Code'. This will provide you access to a version of Redout where VR should be functional. If not, search around here or in Guides. There's a chance someone could have ran into the same problems as you.

You need to type in the code 'redoutvredition' into the game's Beta tab under Properties when you right click the game in Steam game library. It'll show up then once you enter that code in.

Solved: go to this game's properties, click on beta, then type redoutvredition and it will look for it. Choose that option once found, it should start downloading the VR version. Enjoy

It's playable for first person view.
Cockpit, third person view are broken, the menu is broken in game .
And the game use more watts of gpu (for example in 4k120hz at 100% resolution to my monitor the game use 220-260watt gpu. In vr 4k 120hz 100% USE 330-370watt is very hot my rtx4090 crash at 410-430watt for secutity LOL GRID 2022 AND DIRT 5 use less power....with vorpx
Personally i prefer to play in cinema mode with redout ps4 in my ps5 with psvr2 (is not vr...OLED HDR) But the game would look less jerky
REDOUT 2 ps5 is as good at 60 fps it is better than on pc at 60

Starts and works perfectly for me, I started it from virtual desktop and it started up in VR straight away, didn't even need steamvr to be on... I don't really think much to it in VR though, I think it loses a lot in the graphics department, it has a grainy look to it even at 200 resolution scaling and hasn't got much of a 3d depth effect, hope they can add VR to redout 2 and do a better job, I would highly recommend Omega Pilot to anyone wanting a similar experience but done really well with clear graphics and runs really smooth, and is great fun too.

This game used to work ok in my laptop (VR mode). Today, I don't know why it doesn't work.

Everytime in starts, it crashes after I push any button (PRESS ANY BUTTON TO START initial screen). Then the game closes and apart of that I am getting a separate error: Every time Steam VR closes I get 3 messages of Cloud Error from Steam VR.

I have tried with new and rolled-back Nvidia drivers.

Specs:

MSI GE 78HX (laptop)
i7 12800HX
RTX 3070 Ti
32 GB RAM DDRV 4800Mhz
1 TB SSD NMvE

EDIT:
I even tried to fix the Cloud Error, but didn't achieve anything yet.

Updating to the steamvr beta fixed the cloud error issue for me, not sure if that's your issue though, I will check if it VR still works for me later.

Thank you for answering, the cloud error is still there, so I will have to fix it as well. Now I know they were separate issues.

the redout steam game not working, i buy redout on epic games store, and work fine with UEVR praydog launcher - peace.
