Halfway through the game but most components still "not recommended"
Hello, I think I'm halfway through the game (I'm at the Wireless Console Module) and I would really use a component (DX300), which is still marked as "PART NOT RECOMMENDED". Actually, the only parts recommended are the bridge, the MC4000 and the MC6000. I have successfully completed the 2nd level, after which I think the game should unlock all the parts, right?
Please Zach, if you think this is a bug, fix it as it gives misleading hints.

This game is a combo of a more or less realistic assembler and even more realistic "for show" approach, often seen in cheap chinese gadgets. Don't worry too much about what should be done for the real appliance, just make sure your device will produce all necessary output in time during the simulation. Which puzzle do you mean, btw? https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2903704027

The only reason a part is "not recommended" is there is a simpler solution without it. Also "not recommended": 1. doesn't forbid you from using the part. 2. disabled after you solve the puzzle at least once.

Yes, I've just been able to complete it with two MC6000
Yours is a great solution! I guess mine has space for refactoring :)
Thanks anyway, the next puzzle (Laser Tag Point Counter) suggest the use of three new parts. So it was not a bug :)

It's in fact deliberately not too great and can be improved, but it shows a way to process input signals when there is too many for one MCU.
