But the order is different:
first - save the printer,
second - override it with the target object and build.
I knew about this, but I don't think it's an exploit.
The replicator doesn't need to study the item, only the blueprint, and that's logical (like Standard Template Construct from Warhammer 40k).
And the character needs reverse engineering or scanning to be able to manually craft objects.
