EDIT: more info was pending for the weekend.. as that ends today.. we shall see =)
@everyone
As of now I've changed the games steam page to add a very visible warning to anyone stumbling upon RoD. I've closed down the Steam forums as far as I could (Steam restrictions) and won't be monitoring those anymore. I've deleted my store login and won't be able to do anything anymore.
There is still no word from Tai. I will be disabling all but one channel here on the Discord. The old ones will stay on read only.
In a few weeks I will be closing the Discord for good
RIP
Really? So they're just shutting down the server temporarily? What did they say?
🤷♂️
server is online, yep
though its not about player numbers
if you ask me about my personal opinion ... we could really make a great game. but there are a lot of factors in private life that may or may not lead to a shutdown or continuation
right now I'm probably as much as in the dark as you all on whats happening next
is the most recent post.. So as of right now.. it exists.. but may be dead at any moment =) pending future changes..
Shame though. I just stumbled across this just now and thought it looked interesting.
There were 5-10 quests that you could repeat ad infinitum and a few dungeons. There was a second zone that was half-developed and never finished, much bigger than the first and there was very little to do in it other than explore it.
You could literally "play the whole game" in 3-4 hours and then there would be nothing to do.
You haven't missed anything. At best it would have been a super generic. mediocre and janky WoW clone, at worst, what it currently is - another dead project made out of Unity Store assets.
The problem was the developer did not develop enough content, like 10+ fully built zones for people to quest in so he gather enough players to play the game. It was literally 1 small zone with almost nothing to do, everything looked super generic and boring and about 4-5 dungeons... that was it. Even when the game released fresh in 2019, there was nothing to do and people got bored on the first 2 weeks and left forever.
