This game flopped hard
There are compilations of Blow online speaking on Twitch how abysmally it sold. He should have made a new game. He shouldnt have made two games. Lived off previous achievments. And just do a rerun of his first game. That was a bad idea. Hope his studio survives.

often times companies remake/remaster old games and it works out
sometimes its the strategy used which can lead to problems
sales strategy among other things

plus the how many expected it for free when it cost money to make, not cheap
then they complain and say theyll never buy it... why because no free handout?

i mean i don't think there was enough changes from what i've read to warrent the need of a remaster? like some newer graphics are nice and music being a tad better is cool but i don't think anyone who already played/owns it really need such minor things? at least i don't . considering the fact i Had to have gotten this out of a cheap humble bundle in those early days and already own it there has to be tons of ppl in a similar boat. so its cool for those who might never have played or heard of it but who else really needed this?

i feel bad for whoever works there cause sales being low/slow is never good for devs but at the same time maybe make something new its been 8 years since the witness came out and braid was 8 years before that , there are too many games out there to want to rebuy things you already have these days even moreso if its 'full price'

They did it to themselves to be honest. Instead of creating brand new game, they released remaster of 16 years old one. Sorry but Braid is not Skyrim to milk it, and I dont even know what was there to be remastered. And I have original one, will not pay again for the same game.

The dev is super dumb to think it would've sold well.

Yeah it was really a irresponsible move. It reminds me of the devs behind Desktop Dungeons, an absolutely amazing game. Instead of creating Desktop Dungeons 2 however, they just did a super expensive, completelely unnecessare graphical remake with awful 3D graphics that looked worse and had WAY worse UI.

Create new things. Don´t try to cash in on old things.

I'm really happy for the anniversary edition, but there's no reason to think it would sell gangbusters. It also released during a month that was totally packed with other great indie games that didn't already come out over a decade ago
