You don't want the new version? Don't buy it, I did and it's worth it. The loyality discount is more than enough.

The only place where I found this information is just speculation here on the Steam forums, didn't find any official statement about it

Because the developer was not clear, he did not confirm or deny the circulating news, and this is called a scam

There is such a thing as official information about an update or product a great invention that existed a very long time ago :) It is not necessary to respond to every message thanks to this great invention

And there is no official information saying it would be free, so no reason to assume it would be free. It is not the developers responsibility to make sure people don't imagine things and draw conclusions from thin air. You made the mistake of making a mistaken assumption based on third party speculation. That is on you. Unless there is official confirmation, do not ever assume that it's going to be free.

Free, no, because it has new stuff that they worked on, and it would be unfair. It's an indie developer. But I would have preferred a bigger discount for owners of the original like 70%.

But yes, it's mostly the same game. I recommend buying if you REALLY liked the original. I myself think of Braid as the best puzzle platformer game ever made. So I paid money. (Even in my country's awful economy.)

Do you complain when a company creates a DLC with new game content and levels and they don't give it to you for free?
