I managed to unlock the Mote-erhead achievement without having obtained all of the Motes. This seems to be because the counter for the achievement only goes up to 1321, whereas there are actually 1667 Motes in the game.
I can't confirm the bug exists for There's always essence in the banana stand. as I haven't unlocked it yet, but I would imagine the same problem exists as there are 205 essence whereas the achievement only requires 195.
