no dialogue box
it's been a few months since the last talk of this issue, was a fix found? is there some kind of alternative i could do (besides changing my graphics card) to get this working?

processor: intel core 2 duo e8500
ram: 6 gb
os: windows 10

No fix yet it seems, and it seems it happens only with some nvidia video cards.

There's no fix yet, as far as I know, but NISA (Nippon Ichi Software America) is aware of the bug. I messaged them[store.nisamerica.com] about it in April 2017 and they got back to me in August, here's the reply (bold added by me):

As for it being an NVIDIA issue, that seems reasonable - my computer's using a GeForce GT 230M, which NVIDIA[www.geforce.com] says only supports OpenGL 2.1. Others may check their GPU's NVIDIA specs page for openGL 3.0 support.

I replied to NISA in August 2017 and haven't heard anything back as of Feb 2018. Disgaea 1 works fine for me.

Also, in the latest patch notes, the first comment is about old nVIDIA card issues and NISA replied that devs are working on a patch.

well i guess soon (tm) is better than nothing! thanks for the info, i had almost forgotten about this game haha. luckily i've already played it on the psp in the past so im in no rush, but it is a shame for those who havent experienced it.

Must be quite a patch then, that was posted in February 2017

Really, if they're not planning to fix it, the very least they could do is to inform potential buyers about the issue

In the end I got a new laptop which plays Disgaea 2 with no issues. I still have the old one around though, I'll see if it can play well after the subsequent updates, but don't hold your breath.
