1. How can i easily level up new character? For example, i understood that i need a thief in my team and i need to reach him solid level, but Item World is difficult for him, he can die too fast.
2. Felonies. Why do i need this? I saw that some players reach over 100 felonies on one character, are they give some extra bonuses?
3. Multi-attack or smth when some heroes near by attacking together(with animation). I dont understand which characters need to stick together to do it. Sometimes it works, sometimes doesn't.
Sorry if its too much to explain, generally i just want to know how to improve character. Cause a checked achievements and saw things like "Dealt 100,000,000 damage", "Earned 10,000,000 HL from a single battle", "Obtained Total LV 10,000" This numbers are really scary for me)) I guess its just a long way to this for me! Thanks in advance for the answer!!!
For more/faster levels, it depends on what stages you have available, along with certain characters and game mechanics (you unlock some in Axel mode). Having good items also helps considerably. How far are you in the game? And how willing are you to use some rather cheesy mechanics/exploits? There are some guides here that cover some good grinding spots (either for levels or for items in general from the bonus list), like 9-2, Cave of Ordeals 1 and 4 (the later being the best one in the game for lv grinding), and Dark World maps like 3-3 in Adell mode or DW 3-4 in Axel's.
(BTW, Dark World maps are basically alternate versions of the regular stages with a gimmick on top of it. They are meant to be tackled after the main game, but can be unlocked and exploited right from the start)
Also, the Item World isn't really a good place to grind levels, it's there to make your items stronger (which is much more important than levels in Disgaea games).
2 - Felonies gives the character some benefits, like better approval ratings in the Dark Assembly and shops discounts/better sell prices (though I think it has to be on Adell specifically), but more importantly, they give more EXP to the felon (up to +300%) and are a requirement for unlocking some stages and the Bad Endings. The downside is that felons can't use a certain mechanic in the aforementioned Dark World maps (well, they technically can, it just makes matters worse for you), but that's negligible as you rarely to never really need to use said mechanic.
To make the most use of your Subpoenas, right before entering the court room, always make a tower of characters and throw them in the portal, so that all characters receive the benefit. There are ways to farm Subpoenas/Felonies (I usually get 100 Felonies per legendary item), but even then it's kinda slow, so I personally wouldn't focus too much on it for now.
3 - Team Attacks chances vary depending on which characters are on the attacking group (basically, characters who get along well with each other have higher chances), and if a character has moved or performed an action prior to the attack, the odds decrease. You can check the odds on the top-left window when highlighting the character(s) who are about to initiate the attack (you might need to press a button to switch the info, I forgot which one), or, if you really want to, you can give a look at outside resources[gamefaqs.gamespot.com]. To be honest, team attacks aren't that great, you're usually better off using skills.
As for the achievements and such, don't worry too much about it, you'll get used to it. Disgaea is known for its absurd numbers, but it's just fluff for the most part (doesn't matter if you overkill an enemy by a hundred or a million dmg, they are dead anyway). As with pretty much any game, there's the "optimal" way to build your team, characters, items, etc, but you don't really need to go that far for the most part (the only exceptions might be the 100M dmg and the final final superboss, and even then there are ways around them)
Sorry for the wall of text, but I hope it helps.
Im on Carcassed Lands. level 2. Today i unlocked the Dark World.
I appreciate all this information, thank you. My next step is to figure out more about Dark Assembly. I have just 2 small questions:
1. As I understand it, the game is short, but you can replay it several times, and with NG+ you will get new mechanics
2. Residents in objects, are these just skills that improve your character, so the higher the resident's level in the item, the better?
2) For the most part, yes. Most types of residents give effects based on their level, for instance the Gladiator improves the attack stat, the Hypnotist grants a chance to cause Sleep when attacking, or the Cryophile increases your Ice affinity. And each different type has a cap that the resident's level can't exceed, for example, the Armsmaster which helps increase weapon mastery can only reach 1900. There are a few specialists where the level does something besides improve its power, like the Bailiff where the level indicates the court's floor, or the Collector which changes the item's rarity.
Considering where you are in the game, if you need to grind, your best options for now would be to use DW 3-3 (Murder's Vault, in Corpse Garden) or 9-2 (Grave of Alchemy, in Alche City). I personally prefer DW 3-3 as it's decent for both levels and items (it can also be accessed way earlier than 9-2, but you're already past this point anyway), while 9-2 is just for the levels. Just beware that exploiting either too much might break the balance of the main game, unless you're into that stuff.
For 9-2, while you can do the stage normally at your own pace, the best setup is to pass 8 "Stronger Enemies Bills" (SEBs) in the Senate so that some of the enemies are lv 99. You see, Disgaea games use different EXP formulas for the levels before, at and after lv 99, and with the way the EXP is calculated, enemies at lv 99 gives the same EXP as the ones in their 320-ish
For DW 3-3, there's a guide that you can follow, though I personally recommend some slight variations to it:
- buy some weak healing items like Mint Gums and maybe some Fairy Dusts if you don't have a Healer with Espoir;
- save before attempting the stage and look at the bonus list to see if there's anything worth it. If it's mostly a dud, you can just soft reset;
- you don't really need to sacrifice a unit in the first turn, you can just throw your units and the enemy around for positioning. You can take a fodder unit out (outside of the zombie's range) for the first turn if you're worried about the PSN (then return them on the following turn, since status effects, (de)buffs and such don't proc/wear down while in the base;
- not exactly a change from the guide, but never attack the Zombie while standing right next to it, as I'm pretty sure he can counter-attack even if you used Consciousness;
- after at least one tick of PSN from the zombie, use the Mint Gum on it, so it doesn't die from the status (use the Fairy Dust/Espoir when its HP is in the single~double digits)
- build up a combo and finish it off with your characters. Since you're killing it normally, you'll be getting the EXP/Mana that the guide forfeits, and with the items you get from this, you can even pass some SEBs if you want, though I wouldn't go too overboard with it (and don't forget to bring it back down when you're over with it).
Oh, and BTW, don't waste your time with the "Triple EXP" bill. It works not only for the first kill, but also for the first action that grants EXP, which support skills provide, so it'll be wasted on the first use of "Health" or "Consciousness".
After a couple runs, you should have enough Mana to pass the bill for unlocking the Cave of Ordeals, though you should probably leave it for later and just beat the story or something.
