I don't understand why so many people stopped playing this game, is there a better alternative somewhere on steam?

@Stoned Santa: It's because the main player base that was there from the start, lost interest in the game shortly after Charlie did as well. He stopped loving the game well before the Reinforcement update and started putting the money and resources aquired from sales into his new project. This led to bad development from that point on, resulting in quick fixes and balance tricks that only nerfed the games best attributes instead of developing them along a proper time scale with added content.
If the type of love this communtiy dev team is putting into the game was present all along, there would be no issues and this game would be on top and not mostly dead.

From there it goes to personal preference as to the changes that HAVE been made, and for myself, even tho I played recemtly and was liking the game again, the game breaker for me was Conceding. Not being able to finish a game like the old days because your team rages or gives up way too early. Back in the day, this resulted in bans from servers if people f4'd or quit out early too often. There was a reason for that. The reasons to have Concede in the game, don't address this issue properly.
I'd love to be able to return to this game, as a veteran of NS and NS2, but it isn't there for me yet, at least. I doubt it ever will be as long as it is so EASY for a team to concede, at the very least.

I also have not found a better alternative. This game was and is unigue in it's gameplay. There was always a learning curve to this game and it was never an issue. It truly is a great game, and I'm hoping it can be made great again.
