I also played the versus mode against my brother sometimes. It was actually pretty cool, cant remember if it was balanced tho. Cant remember the extreme details too, but one side choose to 'attack' and the other to 'defend. We always played on the map in the beginning, at the shore. The defender got time to set up the defense, having everything already, all buildings, turrets + skills.
As attacker, you set up your attack with your clockwork troops. You have your ressources limited at the beginning, and you cant choose the strongest troops yet. You can choose if either your whole troop comes from the left or the right or middle and so on. Over time, you can send stronger units, and your ressources grow over time. It was so fun. I wish the multiplayer mode still existed. If I was a programmer, Locks Quest would be a game that I would remake + online versus mode. The Story was so touching and the music just absolutely fascinating. Still listening to it today sometimes.
THIS, I needed to know this, thank you kind sir for sharing your touching childhood <3
Unrelated to your comment, but Happy new years to everyone!
I don't know if you know this yet, but you don't actually have to get any kind of cheat code to make all the clockwork into kingdom force. On the original DS, you just have to press either "L" or "R" (It was one of those, but I forgot which one) when you click on a save file to start up the game, and when you choose a map, it sends out kingdom force.
