true, they're either given up too early, or just doesnt have the willpower to ever try and get better funding
The devs did see how great the game was. It was the gaming community as a whole that didn't. Citadel: Forged with Fire was criminally underrated, peaking at a rather sad 8k concurrent players at launch. Eventually, the devs ran out of money and had to move on. Really wish it had caught on, as this game really is one of a kind.

I remember Dark and Light came out the exact same time as this game, and that is what hurt them AT FIRST! Then people realized that game sucked but they already spent their money on other things. This was given up on wayyyy too fast! The game Rust is the best example of this. They had such a small player base for YEARS! Then they came out with some big updates and kept advertising, and BOOM, for 5 plus years now its been one of those popular survival games ever!
I was so eager about getting a new PC so I could play this game without every 5-8 seconds freezing for 2-3 seconds constantly. But the game had died completely, not even friends want to play it now anymore :d I dont know why but personally did enjoy and do enjoy the game. Wish it was continued to update.

what little money they did make went towards a quidditch rippoff that they were quickly cease and desisted over. act like their broom movement coding was something unique, or the idea of throwing a ball through a hoop for that matter

Wow....I had no idea actually lol....That is so dumb they tried to create a Harry Potter game xD Guess they do not have money to continue this game after all :( Its a shame, they could have made more than Ark or Rust. I truly believe that. I was obsessed with those games until I played this. This was one of a kind. The Ark version of this, Dark and Light was dumb. This was a gem and the devs took it and threw it out thinking it was a pebble.
Considering what the base game has, I'm surprised they didn't also try to push it to the VR sphere. It's already kind of set up for it, and I feel like the VR community would apprecitae working with something as niche as this IP is. Either way, it should have been sold off to SOMEONE else so it can survive, or open it up to the remaining community to do with as they please.

This game is too old for VR. Think VR was in such early steps when this game was released still that there was absolutely no point in doing so and later on they had no need to do so either. I doubt this game would work even on VR very well.
I actually did see it in the VR store on Pico for a while but it was quite pricey and kinda vanished after a while if I remember correctly. tbh they could just crowd fund a DLC to revive it but not sure how many people would still have any kind of trust in them.
I wish they would have leaned more into the RPG aspects, instead of trying to make Ark with magic instead of dinosaurs. Could have been a fun game, like a smaller scale version of WoW but with building mechanics.
but the enemies are samey and uninteresting, the map is huge but ultimately boring and mostly empty, the spells are basically just weapons that you have to craft now.

But I love the idea of being a wizard or sorcerer living in a giant floating castle that can only be accessed by brooms, patrolled by undead guarding my horde.

They really don't see how good it is.

Imagine this game on UE5, with some anti-hack in place, moderation, and some simple land expansions.

This would be huge.
