How to kill Corona and Helios (bosses in Phoenix Crypt)?
I cannot find strategy how to kill them. And I completely don't understand why first dungeon boss is much powerful than second (I mean Orcus).

I saw a lot of videos on youtube but it not helps after last update.

1) Tornados.
Phoenixes casts it right in the player and he cannot move out. Ok, I get two spells allowed in dungeon: "Hast" and "Pounce" which can save me. But it's so stupid: I cannot predict when Phoenixes casts tornado. No sounds, no any warnings.

2) Invisible casts.
Tornados fly on the field and I escaped from it for a while. But something starting to hit player like he was catched by tornado, but I don't see anything. And it limit movement like tornado. But I don't see any tornado. Maybe animation not showed? So, it's another cast which I cannot predict.

3) Long way to run. I need 4 minutes just return back to battle. And die after 30-40 seconds without any results. It's not game, it's pain.

4) Very nice when your loot is hanged up in the air after being killed by tornado. Why bag with loot not falling down? But it's a question when I found way how to kill Phoenixes.

Maybe that bosses is really cool, but it's completely not understandable. Also I forced to switch to 3-rd person view which I hate just for see something around player.

So, the question is: what a strategy to kill Phoenixes?

P.S. sorry, but strategy "run-run-run, give max damage and enable speed spells when phoenixes starting to casts tornado" is not working. :)

Bumping this one! I've tried everything including changing armor and damage settings and I still get 1 hit by these mobs.

Killing them is required for the quest line, and they are impossible. Very bad.

When they put their head on the ground or lower it, they are about to put down a tornado. You can see this by using [ and ] to adjust your view. The easiest way to deal with them is to use the gates and bring them into the tunnel. It's a smaller space and means they have less room to evade your attacks.

It's possible if you set armor to 5 and player damage to 0.1 which actually affects on mobs damage too. So you will be immune to damage but do a less damage. So take Concentrated Storm and cast it as much as possible. It will be your maximum damage spell.

But avoid to battle with Phoenixes at open space because tornados will always throwing your player to abyss. Also don't forget about Pounce with increased range - one time multiple casts of Pounce saved me from falling to abyss

It is not possible for now because tornados affect on player even when player not in their range. So tornados are AOE damage event and it starting player to carry away from a long distance. Even "Pounce" not save. Player still stay catched by tornado.

But it ridiculous that sometimes I can stay close to tornado and get no damage or immobility. So I still cannot understand what is the strategy to beat Phoenixes

Don't fight them where you find them kite them back to the tunnel before the fight.
I'm sorry that my earlier comment did not help, but this is how I solo them. I thought I would share its not an impossible mechanic, just annoying.

(Wait i see what you mean. I was just soloing it and after this last patch the tornado can dmg you from 400m away. lol I was in a different room.)

The phoenix boss fight used to be hard, but fair (other than losing your loot in the air and not being able to get it back)

Now the devs genius idea to break the tornado spell and be able to hit you anywhere just ruins it. Great job devs!

Thanks for confirming this for us people, is this on a bug list?

I'm not sure is it bug or not. Because sometimes tornados doesn't damage player and sometimes one cast of Pounce release him from immobility. Maybe there is some tactics exist which I don't know. For example, do not damage Phoenix before it cast tornado or it will be angry and tornado will have beat player too fast.

It's on basilisk official server so no boosted settings and this damage is pretty low considering its a HP/weight build and in the end of the fight i didnt even have bloodlust active.

With a damage build and bloodlust I hit 7k crits.

Its not player damage that is the problem, how do you stay alive?
tirniel 5 Jun, 2020 @ 12:14pm
Codedog, % of dmg as hp drain to spell can help a lot. With enough dmg you can stay alive very-very long anywhere.

Not true, tornado spell kills a player far faster than any drain. However, have tried it since the last patch, hopefully things have improved.
