We're happy to present the next version of Viking Conquest. It's very different from previous updates, since this time many new features and content is being added. It's been reforged. It also explains why it's taking us so long.

There are now many more things to do, minigames, minor quests and a new, longer questline.
And of course plenty of new items to wear and weapons to wield. Multiplayer has also received work with balancing, new features, some new scenes and the new Raid mode.

We'd also like to take this moment to thank everyone for the feedback, criticism and suggestions we've received; and hope that at least some of the many wishes will be fulfilled.

In the coming days/weeks we'll present some of the new features in more detail.


Note that older saved games can be played without problems.
However some of the new features will require starting a new game.

Oh, and it's free of course, if anyone was wondering.

FEATURES LIST


>Customize your level of difficulty and goals

Choosing your combat speed and options for easy recruitment and upgrades. New Set Your Own Goal System where you can choose to become an Infamous Raider, a Strong King, a Beloved Warrior and other options.


>Hofs of the Nordic Gods

Visit the places of worship of the Nordic gods. Make sacrifices and hope for their goodwill in your future endeavours and battles. Or take matters in your own hands and recruit berserkers to strike fear in your enemies and chaos on the battlefield.


>Dog companion

While wandering about lost in your own thoughts dog suddenly barks at you. Luckily you have a piece of sausage on you and it’s the begining of a companionship. The dog will not leave your side, even on the battlefield; and soon earns its name.


>Crouching and Hunting

After weeks of travelling your companions start complaining about the terrible porridge they've had to eat the past few days. Time to get a bow and go hunting for a meaty boar. And you better crouch down and creep up on it, or it might trample you down like a berserker in rage.


>Start as Leader of a Faction

Tired of life as a lowly pauper struggling to rise in the ranks? Every day risking your life on the battlefield with nothing but a rusty axe and a dented helmet. Start as the leader of a faction right away, and set out to conquer lands, riches and slaves.


>Adventuring Companions

A trusty companion grows discontent with your leadership and decides to venture out on his own to build an army. As you say farewell you are certain you will meet again and wonder if he will have succeeded in making a name for himself.


>The last Tuatha de Danann

Delve into a story taking place in the dark and mysterious Ireland, where nothing is what it seems and truths are hidden. Investigate the strange happenings at Bal Luighne, and do not tremble in terror whem you hear the howling of wolves. It is time to win or die, as did all who preceded you.


>New ambush system

Never before have battles been so dangerous. In Reforged Edition you can be ambushed by your enemies, or you can be the one ambushing them. Are you ready for brutal warfare?


>Working (minigames)

Luck has not been on your side lately and all you have left to keep hunger from the door is your labour. Set out for a mine, a quarry or simply the nearest farmstead and complete tasks for the foremen.


>Many new quests and new role play events

-Four chronicler's quests: Become high king.
-Quest "reveal assassination plot".
-Monastery quests and pagan holy sites quests.
-More lady quests to build up relations and romance with all ladies.

>Battles

After many hard battles your armour begins to wear out. You must see the armourer for repairs, or you might not survive the next fight. The enemy lords have become wiser, using tactics and formations. The gore has reached a new level, and the men called 'Berserkir' and 'Ulfhednar' fight like hungry bears and wolves.


>Improved Atmosphere

Immerse yourself in intense battles with new ambient sounds, and enjoy an expanded soundtrack with more than five new songs.


>New Items

Dozens of new swords, new helmets and a complete makeover of all armors. Dress yourself in the style of your favourite culture, hunt for prestige-armors, or even wear the skin of wolf or bear and become a fearsome Berserkir.


>Kingdom improvements

-Colour selector for player's own kingdom.
-Ability to ransom prisoners to the enemy.
-Feature: levy in villages. Call your farmers to arms!
-Troop tree shows sheet and inventory now.
-Kingdom Reborn: now defeated kingdoms can rise again.


>Multiplayer Improved

-New multiplayer mode: Raid
-Admin panel expanded with many options.
-Server Admins can enable or disable troop classes or take command of invaders in Invasion Mode.
-New indication for Thor mode, berserkir, horns and banners.
