Frog Climbers

Frog Climbers

Controller Issues
I cannot press A to join the game, I used a steam controller, a logitech controller, and a Xbox controller and none of them work.

Are you running under Proton? I'm seeing the same from Linux, using a Steam Controller--- the Steam client detects the controller just fine, and it works in other games, but when I launch Frog Climbers I can't do anything from the main screen (either start a game or select one of the other options).

Same, with Windows 11 and a wireless XBOX One controller.

Same problem with regular keyboard - the game launches but no input can be made either from keyboard or mouse

Yeah using mouse and keyboard

Nothing works. Can't start the game :(

Guys, the store page clearly says that a controller is mandatory. Keyboard+mouse does not work. Also the store page directs users to https://guavaman.com/projects/rewired/docs/SupportedControllers.html where few controllers need a driver for them to work in this game, maybe check if you need them

And all of these forum topics clearly state that the users are trying controllers, and they don't work. I don't know about Windows, but under Linux, running the latest Frog Climbers build, the game's opening menu still doesn't react to controller button presses or joystick input. I tried all of the usual suspects (shift to Proton Experimental, change controllers (tried both an XBox One and a Steam Controller), change controller configurations (when Steam Input is enabled), launch from Big Picture Mode, disable Steam Input, etc.) with no change in behavior. The same controllers work just fine in other games and for navigating the Steam client menus to launch the game, so I doubt it's a hardware or driver problem.

Interestingly, the game /does/ work on Steam Deck, so the software/Proton issues obviously aren't insurmountable.

No it doesn't. I am not going to refund this game because it was cheap and the developers seems to otherwise deserve our support. Maybe someday they will add mouse and keyboard and I can play. But that definitely should be prominently stated on the store page today because it is -not.-
