The base game of Sims 3 has way more to offer than Sims 4

Its 2024... nearly 2025! The sims 3 is 15 YEARS OLD NOW! YIKES! So does it hold up all these years later...

YES YES, AND BTW... YESSSSSSSSSSSS!

This game BLOWS the Sims 4 out of the park, in terms of the games quality, passion, and most importantly... value!!!

If you run the game on an SSD, on a decent machine, along with some mods, this game runs very well, and woah- it loads FAST (probably faster then the sims 4 in my opinion, your load time ofc will varry). With that concern out of the way, despite some of the features it DOES lack compared too the sims 4, this game still holds a fiery candle to the sims 4. The games open world is fantastic and is very easy and wonderful to explore... The sims themselves are still full of personality and detail, and the sim 3 sims have suburb AI's compared to the sims 4 AI's. The base game is packed full of very fun content, that will keep you engaged for hours and hours on end, such as the game progression system.

The games Sims are a bit of a drawback- the sims in the sims 4 are better looking, but the create a sim still does not disappoint, and you still have loads of control over how you want your sims too look, behave (traits system works way better in the sims 3, and gives your sims arguably better distinguishable personalities), along with being able to become a mini fashion designer, and use the Create a style tool to FULLY customize the color and patterns of the clothes your sim is wearing!

The expansion packs MOSTLY (The sims 3 was not perfect, DLC was a tiny bit over the top in this game....) pack a very compelling pow, compared to the lack luster packs seen in the sims 4 (not too say that all the sims 4 packs are lack luster, get together was very compelling and well received). Most of the Major Sims 3 expansion packs add very innovative and compelling objects, and game play features THAT ARE NOT BROKEN AND WORK PROPERLY, I REPEAT THEY ARE NOT BROKEN AND DON'T REQUIRE COMMUNITY MODS TO PATCH (Most of the time, TS3 DOES have some issues, but its way less, trust me....) that are sure to add hours of fun onto your game play... all for the fraction of the cost of the sims 4!

A few other drawbacks too this game, is that you may struggle more to find CC, due to the age of the game, and that the build mode is definitely not as great as the sims 4 in many ways (though, the sims 3 build mode may suprise you: look up some building hacks for the sims 3 if your skeptical, as I was skeptical: TS3 build mode was a was a bit ahead...).

Over all, this game lacks in certain departments, and I cannot say that the Sims 4 didn't improve in SOME aspects of the franchise. But honestly, after playing the sims 4 for awhile, and discovering the aggressive DLC that EA continues to push out, all with terrible value and quality, and discovering this game, I quit, and become one of the few who are thinking different from the sims 4 community (Who scare me with how they will blindly buy the brand new horrible sims 4 DLC), and are playing the sims 3/ sims 2 in 2024, where I will continue to play until para-lives hits the scene, which I pray will be a very much needed, deadly blow to the Sims 4 DLC empire, if they don't get a lawsuit from the EU first.

So if you are reading this, you either are a new player, figuring out how to get into the franchise, or you ARE thinking different! Either way; I wont tell you what decision to make, but regardless, I hope that you do what makes you happy, and that most importantly; you make a decision by yourself, and not by anyone else. Consider my points, and continue too do your own research until you are ready to make a decision! <3

*P.S. Ofcourse, if you dont like the look of the sims 3, or have trouble running it... then the Sims 2 may be a compelling option for you...*

I would recommend this game but I have spent so much money over the years on this game and its fun, its really is and yet I can't play it because my PC is too "advanced" and nothing is being done about it but by the fans and thats sub par at best no offence to them its not there problem it should be EA's. I just upgraded my whole PC by a few years as of now this is it-(12th gen I7-12700k, MSI z-790 gaming wifi, RTX 4060 8gb, 48gb of ddr5 G.Skill trident Z5) and I played the Sims 3 fine before on a different set up but with this set up nothing but stuttering and crashing no mater what I do mods, no mods, high settings, low settings, no settings, messing with the RAM and CPU settings in GraphicsRules.sgr file, Fan made CPU update, fan made GPU update, different maps, smaller family's, less stuff... zilch its almost like EA ruined the game on purpose in one of the last big updates just to get you to get the new one and the outrageously numerous DLC that all together makes a huge hole in your pocket that half of which should already be in the game and we all know it, this will fall on deaf ears but please just fix this EA I would like to play the game I spent A LOT of my hard earned money on and love.
