Game keeps crashing
Hi, I just got a new laptop which is well able to run the Sims. However the game keeps crashing. It's only the sims that crashes no other games.. Anyone have this happen to them or know how to fix it? TIA

Is it crashing as soon as you launch the game? Are you able to play it for a little while first?

This guide is dated on a few items, but has some good suggestions for a lot of different issues. You can look at the headers in the right-hand column and see if anything might apply to your situation.

If you are using the "Save" button to save, that could be the problem. Always use the "Save As" button and give the saves sequentially numbered names, i.e., SunsetValley Altos 001, SunsetValley Altos 002, etc. This won't fix any corrupted saves you have for your current family, but it might prevent crashing on any future family you play.

One Drive seems to be messing things up for a lot of players, as well. Turn it off before starting a new family and just use the "Save As" button after the very first save. Save at least once a day, and after making any large batch of changes, such as making a new wardrobe for a Sim, or cleaning lots of stuff out of a Sim's inventory, or redecorating a house, or building a new house, etc.
