Suggestions for Workshop
Hi There, loving the game.

One suggestions (which I don;t know if it;s possible), with the workshop it would be nice if it stopped people creating puzzles if the number pattern already existed in a puzzle.

Or at least removed ones all duplicates.

This would stop a number of these "checkerboard" puzzles which really irk my competitionist gland ("I must do them all!! even if it;s just clicking alternative squares for the 10th time!" ;-)

I just came to see if anyone else suggested something similar. Because seriously, just look at this page:

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1084958406

More than half of that is checkboard patterns. I'd not even mind some duplicates, but that one is really just too much of the same thing that obviously is poeple wanting the achievement. Or maybe they can stil submit for the achievement, but it will not show to all users if it's a dupe.

I added a duplicate check in the Editor in 1.86
Should be no more checkerboard level submissions from now on. I will try to clean some up as well.

Any chance of just deleting all puzzles that are not unique in the system? For instance, if you go to All Submissions and show only 25x25, sorted by Votes, most of the last two pages are identical spirals and checkerboard patterns. And pen!ses. There are also at least two identical Mario puzzles I've done.

Actually, just deleting any puzzle that currently has more than 60% downvotes would probably be a fantastic idea. There are a lot of pen!ses in there.

I don't think there are a lot of penii puzzles. Can you please show where you are seeing penii?

It is possible to delete all those levels manually, but there is no way to run a script to do it. At least not that I am aware. The workshop api does not allow it.

I did three of them this morning. Go to the last page of 25x25 sorted by votes, and look up 'Car', 'good luck', and 'a very art'. Also 'veins' on the second-last page is probably meant to be one - looks like one upright from the side, with ball on left and bush on right.

Also within the last two pages of that sorting method:

Giant checkerboards:
awole
easy af
Click-Challenge
Grid
Huge Chessboard
Grid
Check Mate
!!HARDEST PUZZLE!!
Click Bait

Giant spirals:
Little Swirl
curve
CCW
Massive Spiral
Hypnosis
too simple

Thanks I'll check these out.

I stand by my 60%+ downvote suggestion though. Those puzzles are almost always either trivial (i.e. spiral) or annoying (i.e. checkerboard). Maybe 60%+ with at least 10 votes, to give new ones a chance.

I have been pro-actively cleaning the lesser desired puzzles. It should look much better already by now.

the problem with the downvote is that it's probably not that hard to artificially inflate the upvote - plus there's then potential for downvote harrassment. Given the dev can see previews without having to complete the puzzle first (or at least I hope he can!), it's probably easiest to leave it to him, and, as you have, bring any problems that you notice to his attention :)

I can see everything :)

Oh I didn't mean a running tally and as soon as it reaches 60% down it goes - I meant existing puzzles only, to clear out the current chaff. I apologize if that wasn't clear.

What do you think about it now? I removed like 250 puzzles.

Seems better. If I come across any other checkerboards or penii I'll let you know.

No need to apologise for an idea :) thanks for clarifying though

Thank you for everything you do! Saw the total numbers drop at times and figured you were cleaning up the mess.
