Platinum requirements for time trials are weird
Some examples from the normal campaign.

hyperions harpstone trial:
bronze 1:44.20
silver 1:33:78
gold 1:23.36
platinum 1:22.36

scorpions zephyr ridge trial:
bronze 1:34.66
silver 1:25.19
gold 1:15.73
platinum 1:13.73

omnicoms luna trial:
bronze 2:32.60
silver 2:21.70
gold 2:10.80
platinum 2:09.80

Why is platinum so close to gold? Shouldn't they be more evenly spread out? Let's say I get bronze in my first attempt. Then I practice a bit and work my way up to gold. I've already improved my initial time by 20 seconds. Saving just one more second for platinum shouldn't be a problem now. It makes platinum feel barely worth more than gold.
The time trials in the bonus campaigns and DLC campaigns don't have this issue.

Just an observation.

Platinum times were lowered at some point because too many people complained they were too hard to get. So that's what happened.

I've never tryharded these either because they're pretty easy to get, getting 20 seconds off Bronze is easy, I don't know how much you could theoretically push the Platinum times away from Gold before they become simply impossible.
But yeah they're doable even when making minor mistakes.

When was that? Here is a video of Omnicom's Luna Trial from 5 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJRwhYoX5gI
Platinum and gold are the same. Only silver and bronze were changed.

No clue, it's just something I heard.
