Absolver
Absolver Frame data is not what you think it is.
this game has a major flaw by design.

What is frame data
Absolver frame data is the [start up , adv. on hit , adv on guard]
so in short if you dont want your opponent interrupt you say like with a move that has startup 12F you calculate the 2 consecutive moves .
Next move Startup - Previous move (adv on guard / hit) = 11F
so if opponent tries to mash 12F between the move he guarded or been hit with and the next move he cant.

Simple isn't it ? NO,
these frame data are calculated on the game that runs 30fps.

Some known facts
this game doesn't have locked fpsis it good or bad ? it depends
  • its good when you want smooth experience no problem with that as long as you don't play online.

  • its bad when you enter online realm things doesn't seem as they look add to that moves frame data are not a hard numbers meaning 12F is not always a 12F it may be 11.3 or 11.5 so these numbers appear in the frame data is just a ( rounded numbers or ceiling ) so with sync issues and delays it gets really wild.

Problem with FPS unlock and Frame data
the behavior of the moves/game changes when High Fps is introduced as well as the input delay the move frame data get less and less the more fps you have or to be accurate its rounding numbers tends to be more accurate alright
imagine 2 opponents one has 60 fps and the other has 120 fps i know thats a stretch but hold on with me.

you feinted a move and you need to punish your opponent with another the one i tested more out among the others "sidekick" feint into "roll punch" , windfall shouldnt be able to use style ability to dodge "roll punch" he will be able to block and manual dodge thats when both players have 60fps. but on 120 fps opponent he will be able to dodge and move tracking doesnt work and his input delay is more less compared to 60 fps.

thats just a sample of whats going on. 2 opponents on same frame rate everything will work consistently what he will be able to do you are also will , else just watch him parry your moves right and left and your moves wont confirm anything.

I said that in the discord Absolver Academy , and seem either no one took me seriously or just ignore me oh well the more fps you have the more ♥♥♥♥ you can do.

i heard someone said 700+ fps will ddos your opponent into black screen i think that should tell enough how this work.

you are free to test that out on your own thats what i found and tested.

i'll add questions and answer myself if some people seem confused why all of that

[Q] What do i get from this ?
[A] If you followed frame data rules and in some cases it doesnt work and opponent seem to interrupt you from nowhere and you game is running on less than 120 and you lose alot , well that might be the case.

[Q] Can i make everyone limit fps their fps to 60 or whatever ?
[A] i dont think so , if you can force fps limit on your opponent , lol please tell me.

[Q] Why i am making this long discussion then ?
[A]
1st for let people that doesn't know about this this issue,
2nd people doesn't care .
3rd in the tournaments there is no rule that says you have to limit your fps to 60 so yeah better enter these tournaments with a monolith pc and black screen them to death.

[Q] do i limit my fps ?
[A] yes i always limit it to 58fps

User > AppData > Local > Absolver > Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor > GameUserSettings.ini

Open as a notepad, edit "FrameRateLimit=60.000000"

It is recommended that you disable vsync for better input delay, and enable a framerate cap. You can use other programs or your graphics card control panel to cap Absolver's framerate as well.

or from your gpu setting , vsync isnt bad either if you set it to fast mode it will drop the frames that takes more than the frame rate generally the issue here no one does that and its not a rule for tournaments
