Alright, here's an idea
I'm not suppose to be doing this since it is the job of a game developer to come up with this stuff. But seeing as this 'war' is going on long enough to the point where people are misunderstanding the actual issue of WHY the Dolls are being looked at negatively... I'm just gonna pass along an idea my sister got, while she and I were discussing in regard of the entire issue.

If you're wanting to do some horror, instead of doing passive defense, let's go with active defense. And I knock on wood hoping this doesn't raise anymore hell. Though now that I look at it, its similar to that of FNAF 3 and Five Nights at Candy's 2 but with lights instead of sounds and you get a toy weapon.

This IF you're still going to do a sit and survive style. Otherwise, you can probably still use elements from this and see where you can go from there with whatever gameing style mechanic you go with.

------------------
So here's the idea. Get rid of the doors. You don't need the things, instead you're giving the player a weapon of sorts. It's a Toy Factory, there's going to be toy like weapons around. But we're not using guns, instead, let's go with a slingshot.

Use a slingshot with ammo in the office as a means of defense. Removing doors means dolls can lurk at the entry and provide a chance for the player to fire on them and knock them away. Doing so can make other dolls more aggressive. Limited ammo forces a player to do their best to keep dolls away from the office as much as possible to avoid confrontation.

Lights that can be used as a lure for dolls can be placed away from the office as a power drain, but can risk burning out the bulb. (In other words, you lose that bulb for that room for the rest of the night, so be careful.) The player can decide whether to use it in bursts or leave it on and hope for the best. You use the camera system to toggle the lights on and off for rooms and try to keep them away from the office.

This way you have a mix of active and passive defense against the dolls. The lights can make the doll AI calmer but uses up power and can burn out. The slingshot can make doll AI hostile, but relies on ammunition rather than power and can be used alongside the light as well as send the doll running to another position before it can resume its path.

Think you can work with that?
--------------

Word for word more or less. Again, its just an idea my sister had and wanted me to pass along.

Whether you wish to use it all or just some of it, is up to you. Mix and match, twist it around, whatever. At least its something different and new.

Again, I'm skeptical and I hope this isn't going to be a routine thing for you guys to be using the community for ideas.

The biggest hint I can give is; you're in a Toy Factory... need I say more?

this is legit a really good idea, we are considering a few options for how the game will continue to play out but this is a very interesting idea and would add a different dynamic to the game, i know that "idea making" is for the game developers so i appreciate the time you have taken to write this and come up with a suggestions we can work with. i dont see the harm in the community throwing there 2 cents in as it saves writing a survey. i really appreciate your suggestion and i will be talking to Hush about this :D thanks again hope more people get involved aswell :)

Great, and good luck with it then. Though if you manage to make The Dolls free roam, it might get better.

As for the ideas and suggestion... its not harmful to consider.. but it can be harmful if used too much that it becomes a crutch to you, or a drug in which you need to seek out the community to problem solve everything for you. Its not an insult but a word of caution. :)

thats an idea we have in the works im trying for nightmare mode to be free roam so in the game you get 2 types of game mechanics which i think would make it better ( just a basic idea we are tinkering with.) I would love to see this game be improved more and try and gain some of the trust of the community back :)

thanks for the good luck

If you can manage to work both of those types into one game, that'd be hella impressive. But we'll see what works best for the ideas gathered from horror research and concepts.

You're so naive...

Naive? Naive, because I'm honestly tired of this back and forth insult matches people are throwing at each other while missing the point completely? I AM still skeptical of the developers and I'm still honestly peeved at them for doing this in the first place and not coming up with any ideas of their own. Which I have been telling them that they CANNOT rely on the community to do the damn work for them.

Because sooner or later, its going to bite them back on the ass when people that did give their ideas to them and have screen shots to prove it will demand royalties for those ideas. THAT is why professional game companies do not do this. Not even Indie developers that have their games out there whether on sale or for free.

I would be impressed that if they manage to work both styles in there but I highly doubt it can happen and in time before a cease order comes crashing down on them. All I'm doing is just passing an idea over that my sister asked me to do for her, because while she's interested in the game, she's highly disappointed it is just another FNaF clone and not a scary one at that. She decided to give them this idea in hope of giving them enough kick in the pants to start thinking more about the ideas they DO have to use and build from there. 'Cause no way in hell they would get anywhere from just tracing people's work and selling it off on their own, like an art thief that steals from popular artists in hopes of gaining a crowd and attention.

I still do not hold any remote kind of trust to them but I am trying to be civil about it. I'm just honestly tired of arguing with defenders that don't get the idea of what it is that's going on and I'm still skeptical that beardrop is even part of the development team. 'Cause you'd think Hush would be the ones to answer but its either DarkDay answering or Beardrop, unless these two accounts are like backup accounts they use to poke around and not get screamed at.

The point is : The Dolls is a shame and the developers who worked on it just wanted to make easy money and benefit from Fnaf success.

I think it's naive to think they will truly work on their game to make it really better (they have neither will nor skills) but it seems you're rather realistic about that. I didn't wanted to be rude ;)

lol No problem, I didn't mean to snap either, just tired from all the fighting. Perhaps, but I am a bit disappointed that the concept idea using dolls (which I haven't really seen in forever in a horror genre game) is going to waste if they don't honestly work at it. I am realistic, because truthfully, being completely on one side or the other... no one wins and all it does is keep the cycle of bitterness going.

I do believe Scott is completely in the right to take the game down unless they switch to being free or remove it completely until they actually finish the game properly. But someone was right that Scott would need some type of competition to continue doing his best, not a bitter rivalry but a friendly one.

Whether it be Hush here or someone else entirely, it would benefit everyone. Scott has someone to test his skills against, and players can have a bigger variety of games to play.
