Mech is useless.
Absolutely 100% useless.

Far too expensive to AoE, flamethrower is useless past wave 4, the artillery unit bankrupts you if you even get one upgraded before you're leaking every wave, its tank unit is so not tanky it just falls apart.

Mech is so bad it entirely depends on good reroll luck.

It's interesting hearing this opinion, because historically speaking Mech has been a top-tier legion. To the point where it was one of the main reasons legions are excluded from Ranked play.

Pyro is one of the strongest openings, you just need to be prepared for hermit on 4. APS is an excellent aura as well that can fit into basically any comp except mass gates. Veteran is a solid early tank that can pinch-dps if needed via its activated ability. Leviathans I always felt were a newbie trap, but if you have other fliers they can be indispensable. Doomsday is also a bit of a trap in the sense that you DON'T want to use it as a literal tank; instead you build it as super-powerful DPS and buff its slow attack speed with the APS/MPS combo (the auras are technically from different "units" so they stack).

All in all if I rolled the entire Mech package in a MasterMind, I'd be pretty okay with it. I just might re-roll Levi out in favor of another T6 in case I want more than just Doomsdays.

I already do the pyro opener before dropping a peewee-to-veteran for wave 4. Even if I remain conservative with my workers, I can't deal with later rounds where berserkers and milleniums need to be upgraded to be useful enough and can't be upgraded in time before leaks happen en-masse. Then all it takes is a unit that focuses on the upgraded berserker and it's over anyway.

Hi Traslo, looking at the build in your last game there are improvements you can make. If you build ranged units, specially at the game start you want to build them a bit more in the front. This way if your first tank units are build, they can be put (in case of Mech only slightly) behind, giving you more damage uptime for your ranged unit as they start firing earlier and optimally they can also tank part of the wave. I'd also argue that you place too many DPS units early. Don't worry, lots of these things are not intuitive. If you are unsure about the Pyro opening you can also try out Zeus or Berserker opening, as those also work pretty well with standard splitting techniques.

Edit: I just played a game against Grandmaster Bots and while they managed to push a wave 4 mole into me it wasn't that bad. Granted, they don't throw out the best sends, but the units mostly perform well enough (even though I dislike Tempest with no more expensive flying units to build on the double buff).
