Sigh...

Okay, the videos makes this game look GREAT!
.... BUUUUUUUUT....
When you enter the game - you stand at a lake, and it looks graphically fine, good... When you begin to fish though, things ... change.. When you use the underwater cam, at first the fish move in a realistic way... when fish "bite", taken in it very loosest definition, fish just swim into the hook - no open mouth, not anything that actually seems any engagement - just a direct, stiff movement and no open mouth. Then you pull the line and ... it is make or break - you have no idea, if the fish has bitten the hook, so ... you press the mouse, and it is either you get it on the hook, OR it escapes because of "premature strike". When you have no ducking idea if the fish actually bites, how are you going to know from the underwater cam if the fish bites?!
The cam angle is also ... with variable quality.

Now, I am no expert in fishing - barely even trained in it. Though...

- At about 40m, I, apparently, ran out of line.
- Not doing ANYTHING to manipulate the line or rod, the line broke because of tension..
- Using a spinner - because of no "lure" the "fish will not bite".

That said ... if you want to fish - you are likely better off with one of the old top-view fishing games, because graphically alone this game is a disappointment. And with the few issues I have experienced in an hour, I am sure there are more to come. So, if you want a real like experience - this is not it. It looks good, but when it comes to the underwater cam the fish are stiff, non-animate, the eyes are more dead that those of the salmon in the freezer in the supermarket.

Conclusion is - the game looks good, but when you look into the details, and experience the game, it is ****. I assume there must be something better than this

This is quite a decent fishing game, though it does have some issues. The graphics leave something to be desired, and i find the menu system clunky. The games strong point though is the variety of places you can go fish, so long as you get all the DLC which you need to do to make it good. The Devs. have done a great job with that. Would i recommend it? Yes, absolutely, cos once you get used to it, it's great fun.
