Can't select restart in pause menu

What is the reason for putting a restart option in the pause menu when you can't select it? I hate being forced to either continue from where I died or go back to main menu and start all over again.

Good question, I did notice that it was odd that the restart button can't even be highlighted. And saying this in 2019 means that they sadly still didn't fix the problem...

As far as I can see, the 'Restart' in the pause menu only functions in the 'Time Attack' mode.

You're right though, it would be better if it worked throughout.
