Warning spoilers ahead!!!

So, I bought this game back on switch way before I.V came out and remember being a little disappointed with the broken battle system and the seemingly un-tested un-polished nature of everything past a certain point in the game. I was also disappointed with the sort of party swap out at the end, especially to go along with the seemingly notoriously most hated main character. I was hoping, like in the case of a story like Tales of Abyss, with a similarly pampered ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ redhead main character, that Alex would learn to grow and really show his maturity in the finale, but instead we get... whatever that ending was. I kinda let this slide though, as an indie project and all. Then, I heard about I.V and I got really excited because it was going to be free and the developer was going to take into account all the criticism! However... even that has its issues. They REALLY leaned a lot more into the psychedelic post-modernism and instead of making the protagonist grow, they just made the central plot ultimately revolve almost entirely around hating him. Plus, I'm not really a fan of the karta battle system. I know it was supposed to be a major upgrade, but it comes with issues of its own and while I got the hang of it and overall the experience was improved and I'd still recommend for each person's individual experience of the game, I'm not sure I understand the deeper meaning that the authors clearly want to hint at in any other way than just telling us what they're saying. I still don't get the purpose of some of the characters or how they relate to the story at all. Either way, a good experience and I did go back and play it a second time just to see what the changes were. I don't regret that and did enjoy it overall, so I'd recommend that on that note alone.
