My monitors are 16:9, but I believe the games were in 4:3, so now the video, etc., looks distorted on my 16:9 screen. I see the in game setting is already at 640x480, so I think it is the DosBox setting that need to be changed,,, how?

I played this when I was just 6 yrs old back then.... i couldnt pass the kolodor stage... Now, decades later... even with a joystick... OMG I STILL CANT PASS THAT ♥♥♥♥♥ STAGE DUE TO F UP CONTROLS... I had to rely on cheat code to see the ending of this game... Now, I remember doing very well for Rebel Assault 2... I shall take a break, and start it later... My god why the controls is sooooo bad on RA1? dang......

I had RA II as a kid and loved it; the graphics looked like real life to me at the time, and I liked the game's story. RA I sucks though... controls are horrendous, story contradicts Episode IV, voice acting is awful, and half the time you're shooting at probes/tie fighters. Game is also pretty racist....

I am trying to run rebel assault (1 and/or 2) on MacOS 11.2.3 (Big Sur) with M1 hardware and all i get is quick flash of a DosBox window opening and then a 4:3 white area centered on my screen with black bars on either side. It sits there and eventually if I press Esc enough times I can return to Steam/my desktop. Searching the internet/steam discussions I have not been able to find anything that addresses this problem. Does anyone know what could be breaking things? Update: still happening on 11.3.1...
