Don't play/install Legacy Edition, it is the old outdated version that used the now defunct Relic servers, play/install the one that's called just "Company of Heroes", it is the one that uses Steam for servers, is more updated, and has the expansion campaigns as DLC. If you play one called just "Company of Heroes" (NOT Legacy Edition) you will be able to play all campaigns from one menu as well (if you buy the expansion packs).

Nice hmm odd how the one with the special name is outdated but thanks I’ll just do the other one for now. So pretty much all you get out of legacy is extra achievements?

There are no Steam achievements for either version, released before they were required I think. The "special" name is just to denote that it's the old version, it's really only kept for the sake of old mods that never got updated when the change to Steam servers happened and the patch was pushed out. But as you can see it causes a lot of confusion and Relic didnt do a good job making it clear, should have called it "Outdated Mod Version" or something instead of "Legacy Edition" lol.

i played legacy edition and have DLC locked. So when i play normal coh it will be okay?

Usefull info. They should have used for the steam version the Definitive Edition naming.

Yes if you play the one just called "Company of Heroes" all the DLC should be unlocked in the main menu (again assuming you paid for them).
