How can you enter the event?

I tried talking to Boehlke, but he doesn't have any dialogue regarding strikeback. I have a key of strikeback and went to the portal during the event period but it just gives me a prompt

"Try the other servers for the Strikeback event." and this is despite the server announcing strikeback event. Is the Strikeback not working or are the announcements fake?
