Before I got my Steam Controller, I used to use programs like Antimicro and Xpadder to map keyboard/mouse commands to my gamepad for this kind of thing.
No, having a controller for a VN is super convenient if you're reading from a couch. It's probably the most consistent use I've found for my Steam Controller. That said, it's also the least compelling case I can see for official support. There's really nothing XInput/DirectInput support gives that a free mapper program won't. All you're doing is mapping keyboard hotkeys anyway.
Weird that the control-skip doesn't stop when you hit unread stuff. I'm used to press the manual skip button on subsequent playthrough to get quickly over parts of a scene I already read several times and to the new stuff, but it doesn't work on that game, apparently (the skip will continue right through unread texts). I guess I'll have to use the autoskip (a function I usually never use, as manual skip allows me to easily stop skipping when I get to a scene I want to read again), but it will take me some time getting used to it ^^
Heresy list? VN's have been on consoles for a long time, almost as long as PC...and a controller just makes it easier to read and lean back. It's not like I need accuracy in a VN.
Otherwise everything seems to be working pretty well.
Like many games, there is an option to quit to title in the menu, from where you can quit to desktop. Alt-F4 should work for a direct quit though.
PersonallyI do not think about this as bug because why will you need the same action for the two?
Instead propose to correct description in this thred - having easy Skip switching really helpfull from my POW.
One normally search such information there, not in the forum threds.
