I am only 30 minutes into this game and I am already enjoying the idea of continuity with the game based on how it plays on the others and all of the "Beach Bounce" games are of the same "universe". Without ruining anything, if the game is going to finish how it looks, that would be nice for at least me anyways but I am willing to bet that the entire game is a "dream" sequence and it would really ruin a good idea of it were.
