That's because everyone else got tired of their BS and moved on to other games, so they represent a larger portion of the playerbase.

Just add the good players that don't go AFK and team up with them from your friends list.

Other than that, don't take the game too seriously, especially not ranked.

Ranked is the worst in this regard, people start ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when you pick an off-meta character, even if it's a good pick. Casual is tolerable, but a lot of the time it's a one-sided steamroll because of AFKs/♥♥♥♥ matchmaking

rankeds are like that since like forever in any pvp game
problem with paladins is that after ob64 a lot of the players left and if u played ranked in those days like i did the ammount of people laking skill was pretty notorious,before that every match was a 50/50 but after that ob the only team wining was the one that had the less ammount of noobs and that just got worse with the years

That and supports are scapegoats for everything.
