Windows 10 Crash & GFWL Fix.
Operation Flashpoint - Red River
Steam on Windows 10. Run through these steps in the given order.

Remove Current Microsoft Games for Windows
  • All Microsoft Games for Windows Market
  • All Microsoft Games for Windows - Live Redistributable

Remove Securom Patch
This prevents the game from even starting on some systems. The game must also be
run as an administrator.

Navigate to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Operation Flashpoint Red River\

Remove or move directory out of game directory.
patch1

Set launcher to run as administrator:
RedRiverLauncher.exe -> RMB -> Properties -> Compatability -> Run this program as an administrator

Install Last version of Games for Windows Live (GFWL)
Download Here[community.pcgamingwiki.com].

Install in the following order:
  1. gfwlclient.msi
    GFWL client
  2. gfwllivesetup.exe
    GFWL service
  3. xliveredist.msi
    xbox live redistributable

Do not start or immediately close GFWL application if it opens.

If you are running Windows 7 install
wllogin_*.msi
otherwise ignore.

Disable Two-factor authentication on Microsoft account
GFWL does not support two-factor. Disable for the initial authentication token
then re-enable.

Launch Game and Enter CD Key
Game should launch to menu; open Live or press home key. Login with microsoft account.

Login will spin for about 5 minutes logging into the service. Enter CD Key when prompted. This can be found on steam with:

Red River -> Right Mouse Click -> Manage -> CD Keys

CD Registration will spin for about 5 minutes registering the game.

Enable Two-factor authentication on Microsoft account
After the initial authentication token is created, Two-factor should be re-enabled on your microsoft account. You will still be able to login to live via the game.

If the game ceases to login, just disable two-factor, re-authenticate, and re-enable two-factor.

SecuLauncher: failed to start application. [2000] -> 0x000002E4
The patch1 directory was not remove, or the game not launched as admin.

This does not work anymore. I followed your instructions and it still errors out. The Xlive redist does not properly install i think. When i try to install it, it thinks i am trying to uninstall GFWL. Any idea on the Fix?

You probably have some remnants of GFWL or xbox live installed. You should run through programs and run the uninstalls for any of those that are found, then retry. It's pretty common for installers to try and uninstall things if they detect something previously installed.

So, That was not it. I figured out the problem. It depends on where you are in the World. I am personally in the US and no matter what i did it did not work. As soon as i Turned my VPN on and put it to Croatia. Boom, it Started right up!

My issue is the game is saying "Save Failed, save data corrupt" even though the game worked and saved fine the first time I played. I got past the first mission, did not play again for a while and just now launched the game and it will no longer save. The only options are "Retry" and "Disable Game Saves" and "Retry" doesn't work. Anyone have any advice?

Just a warning: removing patch 1 potentially causes the game to crash immediately upon restarting a mission or starting another mission after completing another.

This does get the game running. Thank you. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with a repeating crash on the last mission at the hotel. Can't seem to get the checkpoint where armor arrives without it crashing.
