Dirt 3 Complete edition Wont launch
hey i went and installed dirt 3 complete edition.
and as soon as i would hit play. it would try and do its first install it would close and the game wont launch.
is anybody else having this problem?

bump. I'm having this problem too. Tried uninstalling and re-installing and still got nothing when I launched.

Install C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\common\DiRT 3 Complete Edition\_CommonRedist\OpenAL\2.0.7.0\oalinst.exe
Run game !

Installed everything from the redist directory (openal,dx,VC) and still does not start.

I'm having a similar problem. I noticed the game in my library last night, and installed it and played a quick couple of races before bed. this morning I noticed a 96MB (I think) update had been downloaded, and now I can't launch the game. I get the DiRT 3 logo, then a window with a black background and then nothing, although according to task manager and steam the game is running. I've also tried running everything in the _CommonRedist folder. Will try a re-install and post if any change.

i3-2120
R9 280 3GB vRAM (omega driver)
8GB RAM

EDIT: Works fine for me after a reinstall.

Reinstalled and still doesn't run. I get the DIRT 3 logo, then went back to desktop.
I5-2500K
GTX680 / 347.88 driver
8GB RAM
Win 8.1 x64

Hey,

tought "verifying integrity" would do the trick....thought wrong......Start up logo appears.....and thats it....but you'll find Dirt 3 running in the task manager!..........♥♥♥♥!!!

Ok, i restarted windows, dirt 3 updated itself, and now running.

after starting Dirt 3 from the folder..it's finally running...but only windowed....any ideas how to fix that?

yeah i did...there is actually no option for it...but ALT+ENTER did the trick......idiot me!

It's not really a "fix", but it helps if you're desperate to play.

- Try to launch the game through Steam
- Open Windows Task Manager
- Right click on DiRT 3
- Click maximize
