i don't see a reason to take so much space i bet is some bad optmization here, not that i mind these 2gb... its just that i think they could have done better.

I suspect it is poorly made. The op does have something of a point

i used a losless compression windows feature to compress the game folder (still being able to play the game compressed and don't affect quality in any way) and it gone down from 2.1gb to 1.4gb
if we take in the account that the automatic tool can't compress better/more than the developers it means 100% sure the game is not compressed or parts of it are not, however bad optmized we can't say because bad optmized would mean wasting resources when it don't need, not being compressed is just a developer choice i think. but since the only thing you save for not compressing the game is cpu time/cost a game as simple as this don't make much sense to not compress.

now if i do it with a company that usually on the space side its very well optmized (capcom)

resident evil 5 for example is very well optmized, and the tool can't find much space to compress.. ex: http://prntscr.com/s6772z around 2% reduction in size.

gta v from rockstar is also already compressed the tool can't compress anything.

but on this game it was able to go from 2.1gb to 1.4gb.

2.06 to 1.53. I know this method. Too much size.

Why is people mad about a pacman man taking 2gbs. It's 2020 prices of hard drives and ssd has dropped alot surely 2gb isn't that big of a deal
