Each class refers to pyro as different genders in different lines. He's called both male and female, it's just up to the community to decide which is actually true.

Personally, I believe pyro is male, as many of his traits point in that direction. But it's ultimately up to personal opinion, as there is no real evidence to back up him being male or female.

remember that engineer calls pyro "ma'am" in "Engineer_dominationpyro02.wav" so he was probably using "boy" and "son" as slang, not a gender identifier

Engineer calls Scout a jackrabbit in one of his domination voicelines. Ergo, Scout is not human but rather a hare.

And insulting Pyro by calling them a woman (remember, TF2's set in the 70s) can't be slang?

then why does sniper talk about shooting pyro in... well a female specific part, sniper did not even set it as an insult for pyro, bro literally just said it.

Reread my above message, complete with a new voice line. Also, Soldier calls kilts dresses. They aren't always serious and will go out of their way to insult each other.

Every character in the game always refer to Pyro by both male and female pronouns, even to this day we still have no idea what Pyro is under the mask. You'll find props in the maps or official made items (not community made) with descriptions that also play around with the mystery. Even the comics poke fun at it from time to time despite Pyro not heavily been focused on throughout all of them.

If you ask me it should be kept that way. It's like one of the big things that keep this character so interesting (even if I hate their playstyle to my core) aside from the fact that they see the world and its surroundings entirely differently and believes fire is the solution to everything.

Though we do know the TFC Pyro is a women so take that as a constellation prize I guess lol

On my "Orange / MiniFig" TF2 server, there are female and/or anime models for most classes.
