Also, Dead Ringer just isn't a thing for stealth imo. To get to the enemy backlines, you need to firstly feign your death, so most of the opponents will know that you are here (also add a loud noice it makes)
spy can get behind the enemy team safely from anywhere, something no other class can do, and he can get kills near sentries and stun them for his team, he can do much more, hes still the weakest class tho, but not because of his role in the team, but because of the way his gameplay works for him, his team, and the enemy team.
The class can also be a lot of fun if played correctly, it's a shame that almost no one knows how to play him and instead they prefer to jump around the map like cocaine addict clowns just to get killed by anyone competent, or/and they would run straight at a Sentry gun like a heat seeking missile, do nothing and die.
Some people would even say that Sniper is better than Spy, and as a player that used to main Spy and now also mains Snipers, I can assure you that while it is safer to get kills as a Sniper, a Spy can do something unique; getting behind the enemy team and choosing his target. Sniper punishes mistakes and Spy is all about timing and opportunities. While technically Sniper is higher in the tierlist, Spy can still do his own things, which is pretty neat.
