UGCGaming scams their VIPs

if you !resizeme before or during combat, you will be banned, even if you're at a disadvantage of being bigger.
So what's the point of having !resizeme then?
UGCGaming is the biggest con in TF2, don't bother giving them your money or keys.
That community makes about as much sense as an oven made of chocolate.

Ping spoofing is usually caused by ddoss protection and many servers have it since TF2 is full of basement dwellers who actively try and ruin community servers. Shounic explained this for his 100 player server with further reading linked to educate yourself:

we used to have anycast a2s caching turned off but people were targeting the server with ddos'ing to kill the server, so we needed to turn that back on. this helps against network attacks on the server but it unfortunately ping spoofs so it looks like you have low ping to the server.

i don't like that it does this and that's why i turned it off before. but of the two choices, have a playable server or don't ping spoof and no server, i think i'd pick the first option.

update feb 14th 2024:

we ran an experiment silently turning anycast a2s caching off. only after a few days, players started to report massively disruptive server lag, ie a ddos that coincidentally subsided immediately after i turned anycast a2s caching back on

make of that what you will :)

I don't really play on UGC so I don't have a real opinion, but I think it's important to clear that specific misconception up. Many servers do this because the alternative is getting DDOS'd.

you're allowed to use resizing to goof off, but you can't use it to gain an advantage in combat. it's in the rules, and you can read them before buying donator. i don't see how it's a scam when you're made aware of the rules well-ahead of time.

I payed for vip for the perks, like any other person. And you don't have to pay with money, you can use keys too.

I'll only do it if the server has merits to keep existing and thus should be supported. Minimal plugins, no gameplay affecting perks, non toxic staff etc.

If you donate to one, thats fair. The biggest example being uncle dane's servers UncleTopia. You get zero perks, no incentive to donate and the only thing you gain is that the feeling that you've repaid the free service given to you. This I am ok with.

But paid perks and dodgy rules in a for profit envoirment? Thats a little awkward, because in the end they will ♥♥♥♥ you over no matter what. An example from OP. These servers are just predetory, and they aim for kid's money. Truly despicable.

Btw sorry if you are offended OP, I forgat that some young adults/Kids play this game. I can see from your msg you are not that old. We all get tricked time to time. Next time try to put your money into organizations you truly trust in. Cheers
