Stuck on Abbas's story line?

"The Root from which the Branch" is currently at 9, and I can't figure out how to progress it. I've found Linnea's bones but nothing else happened.

Another discussion here said that they triggered the next bit by finding a kinetopede somewhere north or south of Jagged Sands, but I can't seem to find that either...

You'll have to keep going back and forth between the map tiles until you find the kinetopede. It took me awhile to find it, and you'll have to bump into it. If I recall correctly, it'll trigger a combat event and you'll have to defeat Linnea, the half of her that survived, that is.
