On my first playthrough of this game, I couldn't help but feel a bit… lost. The game keeps presenting you with choices comprising two characters whose immediate and long-term consequences are entirely unclear. Aside from those, it has very casual yet often cryptic dialogue full of Christian motifs (I'm agnostic) and rather frequent typos. The writer was clearly enjoying themselves communicating as those teenagers, but it makes it a bit challenging to discern intentional plot points from quirky humor. As a result, the (red) ending feels quite abrupt, and I couldn't entirely discern how my choices led to it. However, I was already really appreciating the game's artwork.

After looking up a completion guide, the reason for my first ending became more apparent, and I also started to enjoy the writing of the other routes quite a bit more. Exploring all the different dialogues that emerge as you make the choices and piecing together information about the characters actually became fun! The highlight of the rest of the game, however, was definitely the true ending: the game finally tells you what it is actually about while resolving everyone's conflict, and it's so much more explicit and beautiful than I had been hoping for.

While I absolutely think that the intransparency about the effects of your decisions is part of what defines this game, I can't exactly claim to have had fun in the beginning before looking up the guide and I think it may have been beneficial to follow the more traditional approach of having the story diverge before the ending. I understand that it's very much possible to 100% the game without one if you experiment enough, but I clearly didn't have the patience.
