Neon Drive
YouTube copyright claims on game video
I just got a copyright claim on my Neon Drive video.

It's by someone named 'ONErpm',

The part of my video that is being claimed on is the visuals only (strangely, not the audio) which would be Level 1 footage.

How would I dispute this?

Ah, so... if anyone here looks up "Gaab & Hariel-Câmera Lenta" on YouTube, you can see that visuals from Neon Drive are used. Yeah, they purposely took game footage from Level 1, added their song over it and submitted it to YouTube ContentID.

So anyone who has game play footage is gonna get flagged by this. :\

stupidity strikes again

Yep. And its not my first rodeo either.

I have had game audio get falsely claimed on before too. Where people took music from a game, say, from them old Sonic the Hedgehog games, added some crappy beat over it, and then, submitted to ContentID.

Boom. All original instances of the game music get claimed on. :\

i had a problem with one of my videos on another game as well, the game says in credits that all music is public domain or something, but still got some part muted for some reason, so yea, thanks youtube

Well, in any case, I have filed a dispute and hopefully ONErpm releases the claim and realizes what trickery is being done here.

Because whoever did this, did so intentionally. They purposely took Level 1 footage, added lyrics and their own music/song over it and got it submitted to ContentID.

We’ll look into it too. Thanks for letting us know.

No problem. I just hope ONErpm is an honest company and releases the false claim, as well as removes the lyrics video from their ContentID matchings.

The claim has been released. Hopefully they remove that bad ContentID match from the database. (But I have my doubts.)

Great news! We have also asked for the ContentID to be removed.

Well, I guess we'll see if they do that. You might want to check in a week or two by uploading a recording of the first level.

I just hate ContentID because it's pretty much a one-sided system. You also aren't fully told WHAT your video even matches against. I am just lucky that "Gaab & Hariel-Câmera Lenta" actually turned up results on YouTube.
